Ideas: ideas are representations of objects, circumstances or properties of objects as opposed to their manifestations in the external world. At times the concept of the idea is connected with the claim of perfection. See also idealism, idealization, thing in itself, Platonism.

Ideas/perception/Locke: there are "ideas" mediated by more than one sense: e.g. The ideas expansion, shape, motion, etc.
Ideas/perception/LeibnizVsLocke: these "ideas" (extent, duration, shape, etc.) come from the mind, not from the perception.
They are the "ideas of the pure understanding." But they have a relation to the external world and are thus capable of definition and proof.
